Capitalism Vs. Socialism: A Debate and Discussion at UMD

The Steamboat Institute’s Campus Liberty Tour and the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets presents: “Capitalism vs. Socialism” a debate and discussion.

This event is part of a nationwide debate tour featuring Yaron Brook, author of “Free Market Revolution: How Ayn Rand’s Ideas Can End Big Government,” and Bhaskar Sunkara, author of “The Socialist Manifesto: A Case for Radical Politics in an Era of Extreme Inequality.” Their discussion will be moderated by Jillian Melchoir of the Wall Street Journal. Capitalism vs. Socialism: A Debate and Discussion will give the audience a chance to experience a rich dialogue on these two economic systems.

In addition to University of Maryland, other stops on the tour include the University of Texas-Austin, and University of Colorado- Denver. The Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets at the Robert H. Smith School of Business is presenting this stop on the tour in partnership with The Steamboat Institute.

The September 17 debate will be held at the University of Maryland Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, Oren Alumni Hall, College Park, Maryland. Registration for the event is free and open to the public.
