Can We Disagree? Cultural and Legal attacks on Diversity of Speech

November 16, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm AST

In this panel, speakers: Toby Young, Yaron Brook, and Soutiam Goodarzi will address the cultural and legal attacks on speech.

The legal limitations on speech in the UK are a hotly debated topic. But the cultural atmosphere that contributes to it is directly related to what government takes action on, and to future legislation.

Can a free society truly thrive when individuals are afraid to speak their mind? Does free speech pertain strictly to government censorship, or are private companies obliged to provide a platform for all views?
This half day conference, A Socialist Britain: What Are We In For? is co-hosted by the Ayn Rand Institute (https://ari.aynrand.org) and the Ayn Rand Centre UK.

On November 16th panels will look at the potential impact of socialism on the UK, with a focus on topics such as financial services, free speech, and the increasing demands to ban everything under the sun.

Confirmed speakers: Yaron Brook, Toby Young, Douglas Carswell, Lucy Harris MEP, Christopher Snowdon, Andrew Boff, and Soutiam Goodarzi. More speakers will be announced on the London Ayn Rand Meetup page. Panels & speakers subject to change. RSVP to receive an email as soon as tickets are released.

NOTE: The discount code ARIGLOBAL gives people £5 off tickets. See link for more details!
